# ViewDocumentMouseDownEvent

Fired when the mouse button is pressed down on one of the editing roots of the editor.

Introduced by [`MouseObserver`](module_engine_view_observer_mouseobserver-MouseObserver.md).

Note that this event is not available by default. To make it available, [`MouseObserver`](module_engine_view_observer_mouseobserver-MouseObserver.md) needs to be added to [`EditingView`](module_engine_view_view-EditingView.md) by the [`addObserver`](module_engine_view_view-EditingView.md#function-addObserver) method.
